Assistant Lodge Management Couple.

The Couple is to  support the Lodge Manager in the day-to-day operation of the lodge, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional stay while maintaining the highest standards across all departments.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure.
  • Leading and motivating lodge staff through a hands-on management style.
  • Overseeing Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage operations.
  • Assisting with lodge administration, reporting and operational planning.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of presentation and service throughout the lodge.
  • Handling guest requests and resolving challenges professionally.
  • Supporting and developing team members through coaching and leadership.
  • Building lasting relationships with guests, colleagues and travel partners.

The suitable candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Age range approximately 25 – 35 years
  • No pets
  • Couple Salary range: R40,000 to R48 000 per month negotiable depending on experience

One partner should have experience in:

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in a luxury lodge or five-star hospitality environment
  • A genuine passion for guest service and creating unforgettable experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer literacy and experience with hospitality management systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Rooms Division Experience
  • Practical with some experience in maintenance
  • Professional presentation and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment.

Lodge Manager.

Top class 5* Game Lodge Greater Kruger National Park.

The main purpose of the Lodge Manager is to manage the lodge and its team and create a memorable guest experience, in line with Standard of Excellence and SOPs.

Report to the General Manager.

Ensure ultimate guest relations in the lodge and that the “at home” personal attention levels are maintained.

Management and ensuring morale and ongoing skills development and knowledge of employees of the lodge staff in line with the Standard of Excellence.

Support and active participation in effective human resources (inclusive of recruitment, inductions, onboarding, and performance management).

Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping, gardening, and maintenance in keeping with the design visual audits.

Effective financial management through the administration of orders and stock control.

Communication with departmental teams to ensure that guest needs are met, and operations run effectively.

Effective daily administration of the concierge and reception duties.

Ensuring the quality and care of equipment and products

Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the lodge, by planning and implementing Strategic Management Plans.

Contribute towards the sustainability operations of the lodge, operating within lodge environmental parameters and constantly looking for ways to further ‘green’ lodge operations.

Active participation in and effective communication and support of conservation message and purpose.

Skills & Experience:

A minimum of 6 years of work experience – including management in a well-recognized five-star hotel or world-class lodge.

High standards of service excellence and a passion for the industry.

Exceptional Food and Beverage knowledge of its preparation and terminology.

Awareness of dietaries and allergies.

Financial management ability.

Exceptional English and a second language would be preferable.

Good computer literacy.

Excellent management ability and communication skills.

A clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures.

A developmental approach to staff.

Understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures.

An awareness of developments within the food and lodge industries, as well as international trends in hospitality.

Reporting skills.

A hardworking, cooperative manner.

Attention to detail.

Assertiveness, patience, and good organizational skills.

Valid Driver’s license.

Camp Manager.

Camp Manager to run the daily hospitality operation at our unfenced wilderness camps, which are used for trainning Field guides.

You’ll make sure every guest and student arrives to a camp that is ready, safe, clean and welcoming.

You’ll lead a small team of cooks and housekeepers and be the calm, capable presence that keeps camp running smoothly, right in the heart of the bush.

Responsibilities:

  • Camp readiness: daily inspections of tents, ablutions, kitchen, dining and lecture areas, plus evening safety and wildlife checks
  • Team leadership: morning briefings, task allocation, coaching and supervision of Cook and Housekeeping staff
  • Guest and student experience: high hospitality standards, well-timed meal service, dietary requirements and resolving concerns
  • Welfare and safety: monitoring guest, student and staff welfare, managing incidents and leading emergency response
  • Maintenance: spotting and escalating infrastructure issues by priority
  • Reporting: accurate daily checklists, incident records and operational reports

Requirements:

  • Previous hospitality experience (essential), ideally in a lodge, camp or guest-facing operation
  • Excellent communication skills, with guests, students and your team
  • Computer literacy (essential): confident with email, Word, Excel and digital reporting
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgement under pressure
  • Physical fitness, flexibility for long days and on-call duties, and a love of remote bush living
