Stewarding over 6000ha of pristine bushveld wilderness in the Greater Kruger region, the organisation has a large and very influential network of supporters, worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Office Manager, with a love for Nature and strong ethics, as well as a desire to facilitate our eco-centric approach to conservation management.
The role and function of the Office Manager is to support the implementation of the operational goals within our various properties and programs.
The Manager is expected to contribute to fostering the ethos of the Trust while building and collaborating with a capable and dependable staff complement to assist him/her, and also to work in
cooperation with other managers and departments within the Trust.

Education:

Grade 12 with a University Degree in a relevant field of study.

Experience required:

5-10 years of Management experience, with proven track record and references.

Background experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping and Operations would be advantageous.

Key Capacities:

Computer literate – MS Office (especially Excel), experience in Xero will be beneficial.
Accuracy, attention to detail, strong problem solving, project management and analytical thinking. Capable of accepting responsibility and accountability.

Strong interpersonal competence, logistical planning and meticulous administrative abilities.

Agreeable to work independently and as well as part of a team.

Manage team relations with passion, foresight, and excellent communication.

Salary indication:

Above market related

Dependent on experience (Negotiable).

The position is standard Monday to Friday, in office presence.

On-site accommodation available – cottage for single person, dependent on individual circumstances.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RSA Driver’s License and PDP
  • Minimum NQF 4 with a minimum requirement of back up trails. Lead trails will be considered an advantage.
  • NDT Registration (Mpumalanga)
  • Valid First Aid with Wilderness component
  • 4 Years’ Experience as a Senior Field Guide / Head Guide in a Big 5 Game Reserve

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Guide Department
  • Assistance around the lodge and in other departments when required
  • Bush clearing, field maintenance and veld management
  • Hosting meals and guest enhancement and experience.
  • Vehicle maintenance and upkeep.

Assistant Instructors should have a minimum of:

NQF 2, FGASA Level 1 – preferably Level 2, FGASA Trails Guide and Current Advanced Rifle Handling

General

An Instructor at any of our Training Camps will be responsible for the general management and running of the camps. This includes the planning and management of maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment. Instructors are also responsible for all firearms and ammunition and they are to make sure all firearms are safe, well maintained and in a good working order.

Instructors are also to liaise with Reserve Management on concession matters.

Each camp has a cook, cleaner and Camp Coordinators. Cooks and Cleaners report to Camp Coordinators who in turn report to the Head Instructor, and if there is no Head Instructor present, they report to the Assistant Instructor. There are also students in camp on work experience placement or on volunteer basis. Instructors are responsible to make sure these students are mentored and their development programmes are followed

Training

The most important part of an Instructor position is to provide an inspirational and immersive learning experience to all course participants, in order for them to reconnect to nature.

Instructors need to plan and facilitate the daily activities. They also need to make sure the correct academic requirements are met with regards to lectures, lecture content, tests, assessments and the required administration processes are correctly followed and completed.

Field Guide.

5* Game Lodge Big 5 Game Reserve – KZN

This role is suited to a well-rounded guide who delivers exceptional, immersive safari experiences while also being capable of stepping into a lodge management role during management leave periods.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the natural world, confident in leadership, and able to combine strong guiding, storytelling, and guest hosting with operational oversight.

Key Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in a luxury safari lodge environment
  • FGASA NQF 2
  • DEAT / NDT Registration
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid PDP License

Core Responsibilities

Guiding & Guest Experience

  • Conduct twice-daily game drives and/or guided walks, tailored to guest interests
  • Deliver engaging, interpretive experiences focused on:
  • Big 5 and large predators
  • General game and ecosystems
  • Provide insight into endangered species such as black rhino, cheetah, and pangolin
  • Offer high-level storytelling and interpretive guiding, enhancing guest connection to nature
  • Host guests during meals and lodge activities, ensuring a luxury-level experience
  • Ensure strict adherence to guest safety and guiding standards

Operational & Team Support

  • Work closely with Lodge Management to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist with basic lodge and farm maintenance when required
  • Support team collaboration and uphold service standards across departments
