Key Responsibilities:
The main purpose of a Homekeeping Manager is to:
Manage the members of the homekeeping department to ensure the cleanliness, aesthetic and maintenance of the guest suites and public areas.
Ensure the smooth running of each lodge laundry.
Provide the training required for the homekeeping department.
Standards to be obtained and maintained.
Effectively control procurement and stock within the department.
Manage the Homekeeping budgets.
Skills & Experience
In broad terms the Homekeeping Manager oversees the following 3 functions:
• Supervision of lodge cleaning and preparation to archive and maintain Singita Standards.
• Monitoring of homekeeping equipment and lodge furnishing in order to facilitate upkeep.
• Training and Development of staff in accordance with the People HR Requirements

Skills & Experience:

• Disciplinary of staff in accordance with the company policy to enhance performance.
• Focusing on Service Excellence in terms of the guest experience.
• Communicate with Homekeeping staff continuously to ensure the smooth running of the department and ongoing motivation of staff.
• Communicate effectively with lodge management in terms of guest requirements.
• Provide maintenance issue lists daily to facilitate the maintenance process.
• Control and monitor the housekeeping budgets.
• Complete monthly stock takes to ensure that shrinkage is kept to a minimum and stock control is maximized.
Expectations
• Knowledge of world-class homekeeping standards and procedures.
• Strong administration ability – particularly in terms of procurement and stock control.

Housekeeper Duty Manager

5* Game Lodge Greater Kruger National Park

Key Requirements:

  • 4 – 5 years experience in a 5 star lodge or hotel ( 62 bedroomed )
  • Manage all aspect of housekeeping requirements.
  • Manager personnel complement of approximately 16 pax.
  • Manage linen and all purchasing requirements.
  • Manage discipline and accompanying of department personnel.
  • Host dinner – once or twice a week, depending on occupancies.
  • Admin Orientated
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Neat, organized and professional in his/her appearance and work
  • Good Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PANstrat)
