To be responsible for the hotel’s accounting and financial management requirements.

Managing the accounts department and procurement function.

To provide the General Manager and unit management team with information  on the status of the hotel’s performance.

To assist proactively with cost control, revenue enhancement, profit improvement opportunities

and safeguarding the company’s assets.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting position and in the hotel industry.

Maintaining bookkeeping and accounting processes procedures and controls in hotel/s.

Cost Control / procurement in hotels.

Debtors and Creditors Control in hotels.

Financial control in hotels.

Reporting of hotel performance.

Internal audits and annual audits in hotels.

In depth understanding of the hotel industry.

In depth understanding of the cost control, bookkeeping, accounting and reporting function of a hotel.

In depth understanding of hotel F&B systems and accounting.

In depth understanding of front office systems and accounting.

Clear understanding of accepted standards of record-keeping in line with statutory and interim and annual audit requirements .

Clear understanding of internal audits and annual audits.

In depth understanding of POS, PMS and accounting packages and reporting packages.

English proficiency Computer literacy of MS Office

Proficient with Pastel Partner  and BIC

Financial Controller

Exclusive 5* Game Lodge – Sabi Sands – Mpumalanga

The Financial Controller manages the financial function of the Lodge

which include debtors account management, payment allocations,

invoicing, reporting  and system support.

Grade 12 / NQF 4(essential)

  • Financial Degree or Diploma
  • At least 3years’ experience in a similar role

Allocation and postings of all Debtors’ payments received

Ensure that Aged Debtors Analysis Reports are produced accurately and up to
date for each Month end.

Month-end Workbooks (accounts and payroll)

Ensure that all payments received are allocated and Posted onto accounts and
bookings accordingly

Complete all daily banking

Ensure that all department invoices are batched correctly and sent to the
Support Office for payments

Maintains and controls the Petty Cash float

Ensure monthly gratuities and staff accounts are correctly allocated.

Salary R 20 000 including accommodation &  company benefits.

Banking Clerk

Large 5* Hotel Sandton

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 Year’s accounts experience mainly focus on Hotel banking and a good overall knowledge of accounts is essential
  • Computer literacy – MS Office, Word and Excel essential
  • Knowledge of the Opera Systems essential
  • Excellent Administrative skills
  • Excellent Communication abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self starter

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Any other related qualifications will be advantageous

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Cash up electronic banking safe and clear all folders of banking sheets
  • Process daily banking and balancing of banking on Opera
  • Recording and tracking of all bank deposits
  • Daily listing of direct bank deposit to all relevant departments.
  • Balance all credit cards with cashier banking and bath listing from credit card machines and bank.
  • Prepare the foreign exchange report and banking of the foreign exchange
  • Record and identify, by cashier any shortages and excesses and bring banking to balance.
  • Manage the hotel accounts float
  • Manage all due backs of front office
  • Issue other department floats
  • Hotel float checks on a monthly basis
  • Daily communication/assistants with the bank & bank services.
  • To assist with the distribution of change to all departments daily
  • Perform Tip payments twice a month.
  • To assist with general accounts office duties.

Salary R 13000 including company benefits.
